Davids cycle rides - Devon Air Ambulance
The Devon Air ambulance Trust (DAAT) is a wonderful very worthwhile local charity.
In September 2008 David did a 300 mile cycle trip round Devon to raise money for the DAAT and for the Brixham
Buccaneers. He called into every Devon Sainsbury's store dressed as a pirate and at many stores He was joined
at the entrance by wonderful DAAT volunteers who helped him raise money at the door. He was also sponsored by colleagues
at Paignton Sainsbury's (£95) and local businesses and friends. A total of at least £1085 was raised of which
£757 went to DAAT and £328 to the Buccaneers.
Many thanks to Tony,
Store Manager of Pinhoe Road Exeter Sainsbury's who raised £170
of the total by keeping the collection pots rattling for 2 days after David called at his store.
In March 2009 David completed a sponsored cycle ride, 7 days to Land's End
and back. He enjoyed overnights at St Anns Chapel, Winnards Perch, Penzance, Redruth, Fowey, and Plymouth. He
collected once again for Air Ambulance (over £155)and the Buccaneers (over £155), also for Comic Relief (over
£95). Total distance cycled about 262 miles.
